A week of conversations, ideas and modular living
The Sydney Home Show is one of Australia’s largest events for homeowners, renovators and people exploring new ways to live and build. Held at the ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour, the event brings together hundreds of exhibitors showcasing innovations in design, construction and home improvement.
This year the Elsewhere Pods team was proud to be part of the Sydney Home Show, meeting thousands of visitors curious about modular living, tiny homes and new ways to create flexible spaces.
Setting up the Elsewhere Pods booth
The centrepiece of our booth: a 4m microhome with an ensuite, the same model that one lucky visitor will win through our Home Show giveaway.
The pod was installed directly on the show floor so visitors could step inside, explore the layout and experience the space for themselves.
The response was incredible. Many people were surprised by how functional the space felt and how much could be achieved within a compact footprint.
SaltPods showcased beside our microhome
Right beside the microhome, we also displayed a SaltPods wellness pod, retrofitted with professional gym equipment.
SaltPods are the result of our collaboration with Salt, combining the architectural design of Elsewhere Pods with fitness, training and recovery equipment to create dedicated wellness environments.
Visitors could see how modular pods can be adapted for completely different uses, from backyard studios and guest accommodation to private gyms and wellness spaces.
Matt speaking at the Home Inspo Stage
One of the highlights of the Sydney Home Show was seeing our founder and CEO Matt, present on the Home Inspo Stage.
His talk focused on the housing crisis in Australia, why traditional housing supply is struggling to keep up with demand and the possible solutions being explored across the country.
Matt spoke about:
- The scale of the housing shortage
- Alternative housing models are emerging globally
- How modular construction can reduce build times
- Why tiny homes are becoming part of the solution
The session sparked thoughtful conversations and questions from the audience about how Australians can rethink housing and make better use of existing land.
Matt also delivered a similar talk at the Brisbane Home Show, continuing the conversation about how modular housing can contribute to solving Australia’s housing challenges.
