About Elsewhere Pods
At Elsewhere Pods, our mission is to develop a luxury eco-tourism and alleviate housing affordability.
Elsewhere Pods designs, manufactures and installs high-end modular studios and accommodation pods which are both stunning and affordable. Our modular prefab system means that our clients can fully customise their pods to perfectly suit their property and use case. Additionally, the flat pack design means that we can access hard-to-reach sites anywhere in the world, installing in as little as 2 days for small studios or 4 days for small homes, without the need for any heavy machinery or disruption to the natural environment. Our pods are made of 99.99% recyclable materials and utilise fewer than 1% of the components of traditional builds. All of this comes together as a system that reduces waste and carbon footprint, whilst providing a stunning and minimalist aesthetic that seamlessly connects the occupants with their natural environment.
Our expanding market segments include: high-end eco-tourism accommodations, luxury granny flats and pool houses, backyard studios and office spaces, commercial and retail spaces and showrooms, as well as event structures. Our expanding markets now include Australia, New Zealand and the USA with further expansion expected in 2026.
Role Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Architect with strong technical capability in Revit and familiarity with modular or prefabricated buildings.
We are a small team delivering a variety of projects at an increasing scale. Your role will be a diverse and exciting one; from leading our project management team, to influencing the development of our next-generation building platform, which is expected to roll out in 2026.
You will lead a range of residential, commercial and events projects from concept to handover. This is a hands-on technical and delivery role, suited to someone who is comfortable taking ownership, coordinating consultants and junior staff, managing documentation and ensuring smooth progression from design to manufacture. With multiple pods often in production at once, you’ll bring structure, clarity and strong project management to keep design, documentation and construction aligned.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
- Lead architectural design from concept through to handover: early sketches, design development, permit documentation, production information and as-built sets
- Become a leading part of the team designing and developing the next generation of Elsewhere Pods - our entry into large-scale scale affordable (but beautiful) housing.
- Produce and manage detailed BIM models in Revit, including families, worksets, coordination and schedules
- Translate design intent into clear, buildable and manufacture-ready drawings.
Approvals & Coordination
- Apply your knowledge of state planning regulatory requirements
- Prepare and submit building approvals and permit documentation
- Liaise with building surveyors, councils and certifiers to resolve queries and conditions efficiently
- Coordinate external consultants and integrate their deliverables into models and documentation sets.
Project Delivery & Quality
- Oversee site and factory inspections during manufacture and test assembly
- Manage design-related site instructions, variations and RFIs
- Ensure high standards of drawing management, version control and document handover in line with company SOPs
- Support simultaneous pod delivery by maintaining accurate, coordinated documentation and predictable workflows.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Product and Operations to align design intent with production, installation and customer requirements
- Provide leadership, guidance, support and technical direction to junior or emerging team members as the team grows.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Masters of Architecture (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in professional architecture, preferably within modular, volumetric or off-site prefabricated construction
- Advanced Revit and AutoCAD capability across model authoring, families, coordination and schedules
- Comfortable in taking on new challenges in a dynamic start-up environment
- Strong technical documentation skills including detailing, specifications and coordination drawings
- Proven experience delivering projects through concept, permit approvals, construction or installation
- Strong project management skills, particularly in multi-unit or fast-paced delivery environments
- Ability to communicate knowledge clearly with consultants, contractors, surveyors and approval authorities.
- Understanding of factory production processes, installation constraints and transport considerations for modular units.
- A portfolio demonstrating commercial acumen and understanding of modular projects, technical drawings and Revit proficiency.
- You will align with our company culture akin to an elite sporting team, where customer outcomes, speed, execution and a passion for problem solving drive us to make positive change in the world.
What We Offer
- A senior role where architectural decisions directly shape strategy, design, manufacturing, delivery and customer outcomes.
- Access to Elsewhere Pods’ “Shared Success” profit-sharing model.
- Access to Elsewhere Pods’ Employee Share Ownership Program (ESOP).
- The opportunity to influence the future of scalable, affordable and stunning housing through our next generation of Elsewhere Pods.
- Flexible working arrangements with WFH options available
- Competitive salary package with potential for vehicle, and pathways for growth and leadership as the architecture function expands.
- Opportunity to work with an innovative industry-leading company with a track record of achieving the impossible.
